Design is an abstract word. it depends on how you looking at, think and feel about it.
I have a design concept. I call it KISS (Keep It Short and Simple). I use this concept to provide ICT solutions for 8 years, and most of them work perfectly.
The first thing of this concept is come from our college electronic lab experiments, when I use oscilloscope to view sinusoidal wave form from my class-A amplifier. the result of my experiment, the short path and simplest design made lower distortion signal at the output than the long path and complex design.
The second thing of this concept is come from My Wu-Shu practice. Actually, I start to research the Chang Quan (Long Fist Form) at 1999, and at 2004 to now, I can learn at least three different style. Then I try to understand about the design of them, and start to compare the differencies between them. The result is the modern or compulsory form is more simple than the others. What’s the point here? in compulsory form, I get higher efficiencies to move and easiest way to apply them in real combat compared with the other traditional style.
When I use this concepts at work place, I can provide various solutions to our customer with a shorter time. This is additional positive value right?
Back to Apple. I can understand the describtion above, since I’m an apple user too. the design of apple products always use this concept. That’s why apple products always have greatest performance because it’s design is Keep It Short and Simple.

Yes, I agree with you, Glenn. Less is more. Make it simple and effective, rather then complicating things that are already complex. This is where beauty came from, and design is about simply beautiful. This also applies in business.
However, we should be really thoughtful to make sure that we do not mix ‘make it simple’ with oversimplifying, whereas the later can actually be detrimental.
Yes, I agree with you Bro, Keep It Short and Simple doesn’t same with oversimplifying. In KISS concept, we try to simplified the complex process with the right solution, based on specific requirements and pre requisite conditions.
It’s very different with oversimplifying concept. Oversimpifying is a destructive process. The simplest thing about KISS is make it easy but it won’t be easy. The world is not beautiful as you think.
